8TH March International Women’s Day

The whole world will celebrate International Women’s day on Friday 8th March.

Actually why we celebrate Women’s day? Is there any need to celebrate Women’s day? In India women are considered as “Goddess or Aadimata” from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and West Bengal to Gujarat. All people worship to Goddess. But actually the situation is very different. In practical life during 19th century women were not allowed to study, there was no permission to work or getting job in any field. Rarely women came out from the house. They has to take permission from their husband or father and take education or work in different areas. Mostly working women were either in teaching or may become gynaecologist or given office work. When we look all over world at those time, there were awareness in western countries like Europe, USA, and Japan etc. but still women were not careerist and all Muslim countries have worst situation about women’s rights and all.

Theme of 2024 International Women’s day is #InspireInclusion and the color #Purple. Purple signifies #Justice, #dignity and #being loyal to cause. Gender equality, reproductive rights and also violence and abuse against women.

A woman named Clara Zetkin (leader of women office for social democratic party in Germany) tabled the idea of Women’s day to press for their demands. In 1910 2nd International conference of working women was held in Copenhagen.

Internationally Women’s day was honored for 1st time in Austria. It is the day dedicated to celebrate Women’s achievements, social, political and cultural fields. This day is time to reflect on progress made to call for change, to celebrate acts of courage and determine by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history of their countries and communities. 8th March is strongly linked to the women’s movement during Russian Revolution ((1917).

New Zealand was the first self-governing nation to allow women to vote.

Imagine Gender Equality, A world free of bias stereotype and discriminating collectively we can #InspireInclusion. Celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender panics.

With reference to above theme of 2024 International Women’s day is #InspireInclusion means that people across varying identities are and feel valued, welcomed, respected, included, represented and heard contribute to collective and have voice.

Women at any work place or in any house can’t be disvalued or disrespected. They must get equal voice and value for their work. Either they work as housewife or in corporate. For this our country has already taken steps to give free education to girls, travelling allowance, 30% reservation in education, parliament, municipal corporations or in state government. Although these steps are very correct, but still in some areas women are away from their rights. They can’t get education due to lack of money. There may be violence in house or at workplace. So collectively all women must follow the trend of this International Women’s Day 2024 #Inspireinclusion as it tells, get confident, prove yourself, and for this demand your choices rights to world.
