A real friend is one who walks when the rest of the world walks out.
– Walter
When any idea originates from the western countries then it is accepted in our country. I am talking about the Friendship Day; yes, we recently celebrated it on 4th August i.e. the first Sunday of August. Actually Indian don’t need to celebrate it on large scale because this was only the marketing funda of greeting card industry in 1958 by Jause Hall in Paraguay. But we all Indians especially, youngsters took interest in the idea and celebrate it. We have a rich culture and legacy of friendship from Mahabharata period. Lord Krishna and his friend Sudama were best friends. Although Sudama was from poor family and Lord Krishna was from royal family they carried their friendship nicely.
We can’t choose our relatives but, we definitely decide about our friends. Good friends are like treasure for us. Friendship and friends always keep our life easy, stress-free, and more content. Friendship day is observed in August, as in this month, Nature is at its peak; so, many colourful flowers bloom in rainy season. This season is the season of red roses, that’s why on friendship day red roses are sold extensively. This day is to remember old friends and we have to try to reconnect and or repair our friendship. Another event we enjoyed now a days is Olympic which come every four years. This year Olympic Games are hosted in Paris. Olympic games are also the epitome of friendship among the countries. The modern Olympic Games are leading international sporting events featuring summer and winter sport competitions. This event helps to garner good relations among the countries by the way of friendship. This event was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games held in Olympia, Greece from 8th century BC in 1894. International Olympic committee (IOC) lead to first modern games in Athens. IOC is responsible for choosing host city for each games and organise funds to them. Now it has became a significant Global Event fostering International Co-operation and cultural exchange. Generally, this Olympics can be conducted during late August or early September as this can be calculated as the suitable season. Festival occur during second full moon after the summer. Olympic promotes dialogue and collaboration on pressing issues. Friendship day and Olympic Games have same purpose that promoting harmony and understanding among people from diverse background and belief.

This thought is very essential to amalgamate within us now a days due to uncertain vibes taking place in the society and whole world.
On one fine morning, my husband told me that there was a proposal to conduct a workshop in London. I was surprised at that time because I knew some Ayurveda practitioners in London but was unaware of their good practices and reputation. So, I was happily surprised when a group of ayurvedic practitioners in London invited my husband to conduct a workshop.
As my husband is good at planning tours according to their purpose, I was a bit relaxed. We began our planning approximately six months before our departure. 3 days were kept for the workshop, and we were going to plan a 5-day itinerary to visit London. All expenses are now calculated in pounds. There is a separate visa for the UK, which is not included in Schengen (Europe), but we got the visa easily. There were so many things to see and do in London. Actually, London was a priority on our bucket list, as we had a Europe trip in 2017 but could not visit London.
In our school days, we had a syllabus in history about the British and their 150 years of rule over our country. British people are fond of discipline. There is so much curiosity in our minds, like Shakespeare, Piccadilly Street, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Queen, their palace, prince, princess, and so on.
We arrived at Heathrow Airport, which was not very crowded at that time. We heard that this is one of the busiest airports in the world. For every 5 seconds, one airplane can take off or land. This airport is closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the morning. The Royals can afford it and dictate it. In India, most of the airports are flooded with passengers at night. London has four international airports. We stayed in Reading, 40 km away from London, during our first half of the tour. The workshop was at Brunel University. Reading was near Stratford upon Avon (Shakespeare’s birthplace). We visited this place and were in awe to see how well maintained it is. Shakespeare was born at this place on April 23, 1564, some 458 years ago. So, it was fascinating to see his house, clothes, utensils, and so on. Stratford town is very awesome, containing a river, a typical square, and so many shops and coffee shops with chairs to sit in. Then we visited Windsor Castle, a royal castle. All royal members have stayed some or other time in this castle. The official church of the royals, St. Gorge’s Chapel, is a treat to watch. It is very beautiful from the inside. It was founded in 1475. It is a place of worship for the queen, king, and royal family. It has witnessed many royal marriages. It is the place of royal burials and funerals. We also saw the burial place of Queen Elizabeth II. Then we visited Warwick Castle, which was surrounded by so many trees, greenery, and always a river.
After completing the workshop, we shifted to central London by the most famous tube at Paddington station. All the transport systems in London are so easy and amazing. We easily commuted using the underground metro (in London it is called a tube), overground local trains, buses, and so on. Every area in central London is near one railway station and 4-5 bus stops. We faced no problem with transportation or understanding the use of the various train lines.
The next day, we had a tour of Wimbledon in the morning and Lords Cricket Ground in the afternoon. Wimbledon has 38 courts with royal arrangements. Lords is very near to our hearts due to our love for cricket. Due to British people, we Indians have developed a lot of love for the sport. There was 2 and half hour conducted tour to lords. One guide was allotted for 15-20 people to deliver the information. We saw the ground, the dressing room of cricketers, the visitors’ gallery, and the media gallery. There is a museum containing articles about famous World Cup players. India won the 1983 World Cup at Lords. We were so proud and glad for our cricketers, who were members of the cricket team, and Captain Kapil Dev. It was an amazing experience to visit the lords.
The next day, we started our tour on the hop-on, hop-off Red Line. We picked up this big bus from Piccadilly Circus. A huge circle containing big showrooms of famous brands. We strolled on the famous Regent and Oxford streets. I was glad and surprised by the way they promoted the products. Piccadilly Circus is the heart of central London, within a short walk of Trafalgar Square. This area is very crowded, but the people are disciplined. There was good cleanliness on the roads. It contains the Embassy’s, the National Arts Gallery Museum, monuments, and so on. We picked up the big bus from the ‘Mamamia’ theatre stop. There was a craze in our teens about this. Then we had an appointment at 3 o’clock for London Eye. London Eye is a giant wheel that provides us with a bird’s-eye view of London. The Thames River Cruise was an enchanting experience. The guide was making funny comments about the structures we can see on either bank of the river. From the big bus, we visited the huge structure of Westminster Abbey, Saint Paul Cathedral Church, and the Tower Bridge, which contains a museum. A Kohinoor diamond is kept in the jewel house of the Tower of London. We were slightly disappointed not to see it due to the time crunch.
We had a ride on the London Eye. A huge capsule structure roller-coaster from which the whole of London can be seen. Big Ben, London Bridge, and the and the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, where still the dramas are performed, are fantastic experiences. Then we had the Thames River Cruise, a guided tour, from where we were very near London Bridge. We also saw the opening of a bridge, through which a ship passed away—a very thrilling experience.
The next day, we had an appointment to visit the Madam Tussauds Museum. It was a very extravagant and fantastic experience. We saw many (मेणाचे पुतळे) wax statues of different celebrities from the whole world. There was a small taxi tour that presented us with a time-travel view of how London was built. Then two hours’ entertainment and all. Then the most famous Buckingham Palace and their Guard of Honour. In front of that, we visited ‘Hyde Park’, a 350-acre area containing fabulous lakes, thick greenery, and big trees. There are places for jogging, walking, playing cricket, drawing, painting, and relaxing in a chair. It is a very beautiful place. It was very close to our hotel. Then we visited the Victoria and Albert Museum, which is the world’s largest museum of applied arts, decorative arts, and design. It is where the legendary wagh nakh (tiger claws) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are on display. Then we had a guided tour of Stonehenge Village; ancient rock structures are preserved in this place. In the evening, one of the Ayurvedic physician friends sponsored a treat of Indian food at the ‘Dhishoom’, a very famous pub with jazz music, a different experience. We had dinner at the English pub earlier, when we stayed in Reading. That was also an amazing experience.
On the last day of our tour, we visited the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. They are huge, and we were clearly short on time. Now the time came to say buy buy to London, a very big and fabulous city in the world.
We were so glad that there are so many Ayurvedic clinics with yoga and Panchkarma therapy in and around London. These practitioners used our traditional and herbal medicines. They treat the patients with this therapy. British people took the treatment of Ayurvedic therapy in our workshop. There were 5–6 European and British practitioners. They are working in NHS (National Health Scheme hospitals run by the government), but they are still interested in learning Ayurvedic therapy and want to do that practice.
I feel British people are intelligent and disciplined. So, they ruled the whole world with such qualities. The ancient structures and monuments are preserved very well. We have to learn their discipline, etiquette, manners, and decency. Central London is so crowded, but there was no chaos, hustle, or bustle. Everything is running so smoothly and patiently.
Finally, I was surprised to travel from our hotel location to the T2 terminal in Heathrow by bus and train. What a convenient trip with savings in pounds!! We are grateful for the invitation and kind hospitality of London-based Ayurvedic practitioners. We express our gratitude to Ayurveda, Panchabhautik Chikitsa, and Ti. Appashastri Datar for providing us with this amazing chance.
As you all will agree that the summer vacation is a big concern for the parents whose children are studying at school level. For elders there are various different reasons of worry in a summer vacation.
Actually, in early 80s or 70s children used to enjoy their summer vacation with the relatives by going to the cities or villages they reside. But now a days the trend has been changed. The parents are engaging their children at summer camps, trekking camps etc. or they are enjoying some tourism with family and friends. From March to mid-June the temperature goes up-to 40-42°C. The hot summer weather and scorching heat are restricting the people at homes. But, the summer also offers us with so many delicious food items. We all love mangoes which are only available in the summer season. If we eat them in early summer or late winter, it creates a bad effect on our health. So, we should be particular about feasting on mangoes without getting ill. Summer season is a season for Indian black berry (Jambhul) and carandus plum (Karwand). Summer is a part of Vasant and Grishma rutu. In Chaitra month plants rejuvenate and regenerate themselves. So, this season is a mix of love, enjoyment amongst lot of heat.
People love summer because they spare some time to enjoy with their relatives and children in company of all these fruits and other cool and refreshing foods like ice-cream and others. To enjoy the summer season without suffering from some physical ailments, we have to take precautions. Ayurveda recommends the use of herbs like – Wala, Chandan which gives internal cooling effects. Wala and Chandan reduce heat. We have used them in Avani Gulkand. Gulakand itself contain Rose Petals, which gives soothing and cooling effect in the body. In ancient days when there was no cooler and Air-conditioner in house, Wala was used for curtains providing good cool air. In summer, people travel a lot for tourism purpose. The harsh sunlight exposure can result in tanning (darkness) of the skin and minor blemishes. The application of the paste of Chandan is very beneficial in this condition.
As I mentioned earlier these are the mango days. The mangoes or Alphonso variety is a special produce of coastal area. Mango itself has a lot of medicinal values. Though they are available only in summer season, they are the good source of fibre, improves skin complexion and promotes hair health.
Another seasonal fruit is Indian Blackberry i.e. जांभूळ. It has an astringent taste but it is slightly sweet also. It has many medicinal values. It is a good antidiabetic drug, reduces cholesterol, good anti-oxidant, haematinic means improves blood strength, promotes weight loss and strengthen gums and teeth.
Carandus plum is another fruit named Karwand in local language. This is also found in hilly areas of coastal region, so, called as Dongarmaina (डोंगरची मैना). It is rich in medicinal values. It is a good antimicrobial and anti-fungal agent. It enhances sebum production. It is a good antiaging drug and improves skin complexion.
The summer season presents us with so many gifts like mango, Jambhul, Karwand, holidays, picnics and so on…… We all are waiting for this season. After suffering from extreme heat, rainy season begins. I wish you all happy summer enjoyment. Enjoy with due precautions and preserve good health!!!
In 2020 covid situation was on its peak level during March to June months; there was a lockdown in the whole world. Many people lost their jobs all over the world and in our country also. In the private sector there was lot of tension or stress at the work. This situation encouraged to think about having one’s own business. We were not able to do our work those days. My job place was 15-16 km away from my home and also in an adjacent district. In September 2020 in the first wave of covid we both means myself and my husband suffered from covid and were admitted to the hospital. This situation taught me about how the life is very important for us and our loved ones. We both were thinking about quitting my job and let us begin for a new adventure. Because up to this moment, my job was somewhat non risky. The timing to shift from job to a business was suitable for me. But, the year 2020-21compelled us to think afresh and take a risk in life. After suffering from covid we got new life. My husband is successful ayurvedic practitioner for last 30years and I am a pharmacist, so, we decided to delve into something we are proficient into; to prepare OTC Ayurvedic herbal products which are very effective, useful and affordable to common people. Thinking process began in year 2020 and dream came true in April 2021 at the auspicious day of GUDHI PADAWA. Hindu New Year starts in Chaitra month. Initially 4 products were prepared and marketed offline to doctors, but still covid was there so we plan to sell them digitally also on FB, INSTA, WhatsApp and on. The response from digital was slow but steady. 3 products out of 4 were simple and familiar to every household but, 1 product AVANI URJA KALP was formulated by doing research, like Protinex, Horlicks in the market. It is totally herbal and prepared naturally in the form of granules and it is useful to all members of family from children to elder ones.
AVANI URJA KALP contains Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Upalsari and Shankhapushpi. These ingredients are best energizer, immune-booster for children and all people. If children can consume this with milk then it is a good in mental tonic to improve concentration and cognition due to Shankhapushpi. Challenge for formulating this Kalp was to make it in a granule form with herbal and by natural way. But our manufacturing department experimented very hard and easily handled this challenge and made it possible. Other products were already in the market like Shatavari Kalp, Face Pack and Maka Tel. After one year, we realised that product range needs thoughtful additions. Then we decided to increase product range and do research on ointments. Already our Padadari ointment was there with fantastic results. We formulated two another ointments like Payujeet and Skinojit. Due to herbal and natural process it was difficult to stabilise the ointments. But we succeed after relentless research and experimentation. Skinojit is best skin ointment, very useful to all type of skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, fungal infections, itching, allergies etc.
The next products to hit the market included Cough Syrup, Gulkand, Chyavanprash. We introduced many such effective products in the market within 3 years. The popular combination of Gulkand contains Prawal and mauktik, but, Avani Gulakand contains Chandan and Wala, best for acidity, heat, and tastelessness particularly during summer season. Avani Chyavanprash is our Signature Product. It is prepared by traditional method with so many processes involved. We used pure ghee obtained from cow milk and also farm fresh amala fruit, which is very energized with Iron, Vit C and protein.
After 30 months of doctors’ calls and digital marketing, we started our website, www.ayurbreeze.com. The website is very modern and has a facility of online cart. The website has inbuilt links to our FB, INSTA and WA accounts. So, it is very simple to order our products now. On our third establishment GUDHI PADWA, we are happy to announce that, all the products are available on Amazon.
Our delightful journey of three years is marked by growing confidence of the customers. The support and continuous encouragement of connected doctors, wholesale and retail stores and above all, our customers have kept us on our toes to do the best. We are committed to provide best quality naturally prepared Ayurvedic herbal products for entire family at an affordable cost which maintain healthy lifestyle. Hoping for better response from customers and opportunity to serve better.
The whole world will celebrate International Women’s day on Friday 8th March.
Actually why we celebrate Women’s day? Is there any need to celebrate Women’s day? In India women are considered as “Goddess or Aadimata” from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and West Bengal to Gujarat. All people worship to Goddess. But actually the situation is very different. In practical life during 19th century women were not allowed to study, there was no permission to work or getting job in any field. Rarely women came out from the house. They has to take permission from their husband or father and take education or work in different areas. Mostly working women were either in teaching or may become gynaecologist or given office work. When we look all over world at those time, there were awareness in western countries like Europe, USA, and Japan etc. but still women were not careerist and all Muslim countries have worst situation about women’s rights and all.
Theme of 2024 International Women’s day is #InspireInclusion and the color #Purple. Purple signifies #Justice, #dignity and #being loyal to cause. Gender equality, reproductive rights and also violence and abuse against women.
A woman named Clara Zetkin (leader of women office for social democratic party in Germany) tabled the idea of Women’s day to press for their demands. In 1910 2nd International conference of working women was held in Copenhagen.
Internationally Women’s day was honored for 1st time in Austria. It is the day dedicated to celebrate Women’s achievements, social, political and cultural fields. This day is time to reflect on progress made to call for change, to celebrate acts of courage and determine by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history of their countries and communities. 8th March is strongly linked to the women’s movement during Russian Revolution ((1917).
New Zealand was the first self-governing nation to allow women to vote.
Imagine Gender Equality, A world free of bias stereotype and discriminating collectively we can #InspireInclusion. Celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender panics.
With reference to above theme of 2024 International Women’s day is #InspireInclusion means that people across varying identities are and feel valued, welcomed, respected, included, represented and heard contribute to collective and have voice.
Women at any work place or in any house can’t be disvalued or disrespected. They must get equal voice and value for their work. Either they work as housewife or in corporate. For this our country has already taken steps to give free education to girls, travelling allowance, 30% reservation in education, parliament, municipal corporations or in state government. Although these steps are very correct, but still in some areas women are away from their rights. They can’t get education due to lack of money. There may be violence in house or at workplace. So collectively all women must follow the trend of this International Women’s Day 2024 #Inspireinclusion as it tells, get confident, prove yourself, and for this demand your choices rights to world.
Upon this quote we celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024. Be confident, be entrepreneurs, make your own business, educate and train others, your family, make nation self-respectable, strong and developed. Naturally women have their own beauty but use of our products make women confident, awesome and beautiful; because our products are made from natural resources, act in enhancing natural beauty of the women. So use them and be healthy, confident, glowy and beautiful.

We use these vegetables in our kitchen and make mix vegetable. In Marathi it is called lekurwali bhaji along with bajara roti (बाजरीची भाकरी) with sesame and butter. Bajara is a millet which has lots of energy along with carbohydrate, calcium, and iron trace elements. To provide heat to our body in this chilled winter season we eat bajara roti along with all this electrolyte required to our body. It helps to maintain body temperature to about 370 c, the outside temperature is as low as 150 to 200. The bajara bhakari is served along with sesame, It controls Cholesterol, is rich in Iron, Manganese, copper, and calcium. It has anticancer and antioxidant actions. It is recommended for improving tone and strength of the muscles of the body; makes our body moist and oily. It doesn’t crack and dry easily during the winter season. Carrot used in mixed veg contains vitamin A and so many fibers. This carrot is very important for wellness in ophthalmology. It keeps eye in a better condition and provide clear vision. It balances your sugar and helps in management and regulation of blood pressure, diabetes thus reducing incidence of heart diseases. It also improves immunity.
These all foods like sesame, bajara, carrot can be consumed until Rathasaptami. The day from which sun starts its uttarayan (north Movement of sun). From this day the day starts to increase in length and nights become short. All days from Rathasaptami are long up to 22nd June. On Rathasaptami winter season is over and summer season starts. Our rituals are always according to the present atmospheric or environmental conditions and food is taken according to that condition. From Rathasaptami some people starts for Suryanamskar as sun salutation. To worship sun and providing strength to the body, Suryanamskar is an all-round exercise.
